In one glance, you would see the last missing squares where you can lay a tile. This is not very different from what Reversi program does when it shows you where you are allowed to play.

The reason for this is, if you are showing playable squares, then you are also showing non-playable squares -- which is every square not occupied and not marked playable. This is an unacceptable aid for inattentive players. Most P.d.D. players who've played many games have made the mistake of assuming a square is playable when it isn't or isn't any longer. These mistakes can, of course, effect the entire course of the game. So, an aid that would help avoid this kind of blunder is little more than a cheat.
Otherwise, I'm neutral as regards this suggestion. It may take a minute to find those pesky, last, playable squares. Personally, I tend to enjoy that little bonus puzzle at the end. :)
