tried to store a Cavalry card under the Writing technology, but when i picked the Cavalry card, i could only pick a starting location to start a battle - could not select the technology to store the card.
this might be an interface issue - could not figure out how to store the card. -

It is only possible at end of your turn, UI will let you a chance to do that.
All he's saying is that the warning doesn't take into effect that you're not wasting it if you can store it.
